OK, fuel lanes are one way drive through. The diesel is usually available on either side as trucks have saddle tanks that fill from both sides. However, DEF is only available on the drivers side. There is no way to get the DEF tank close to the DEF pump without driving through backwards and upsetting the general traffic flow at the pumps. You cannot simply pull up and fill from the DEF pump in the next lane as the hoses are fairly short and will not reach. Therefore, this leads to the problem with having to use refillable containers.
