Here is my take on our wonderfully amazing hobby. Most of us use our RVs/MHs very infrequently, and then when we do use them we expect them to perform flawlessly. One of the worst things for not only vehicles, but most things mechanical, is to let them sit and not use them. They is why you need to run your generator with a load on it once a month in the winter, etc.
Just like active people, vehicles do well when exercised. It helps keep seals lubricated, moisture and rust at bay, and helps you to identify a potential problem before it becomes much larger. This along with good preventive maintenance, and pre-trip operational checks should keep 95% of the problems away.
