Here is my take on our wonderfully amazing hobby. Most of us use our RVs/MHs very infrequently, and then when we do use them we expect them to perform flawlessly. One of the worst things for not only vehicles, but most things mechanical, is to let them sit and not use them. They is why you need to run your generator with a load on it once a month in the winter, etc.
Just like active people, vehicles do well when exercised. It helps keep seals lubricated, moisture and rust at bay, and helps you to identify a potential problem before it becomes much larger. This along with good preventive maintenance, and pre-trip operational checks should keep 95% of the problems away.

Doug thanks...that's actually something I've been wondering about I pretty much would use this one month a year and even then it would sit in one place once I got to Montana. The rest of the year it would sit idle.
My class B on the other hand I drive almost everyday to tow my dog trailer to where I exercise them.
My other thought is to buy a 4x4 van like a Quigley and pull a Bigfoot four season TT behind it.
I could boondock in the camper and run around chasing pheasants with the dogs in the van. It seems that would be simpler to maintain but less pleasant to drive up to MT in... which might be a good trade off.
I am not retired yet ( early 60s) so I still work most of the year.
