I cannot imagine owning anything complicated if you are not handy and being at the mercy of someone charging you $100/hour to maybe fix it. The newer and bigger the MH the more complex they have become.
I would not judge the negative side of RVing by posts one here as most come here when they have a problem or need advice. For your one month a year use I'd keep what you have and add a nice lateral arm awning to increase your usable area.
I agree but that brings up another question I've been mulling over, what do you gain other than upgraded technology by jumping from a mid to late 90s A to around a 2005-6 class A.
There seems to be a lot of relatively low mileage A's from the nineties for little money ( these things really depreciate fast ouch).
I don't need fancy, just want a hunting shack on wheels that I am my dogs can boondock in and stay warm and dry.
Are the older units likely to be just as reliable with good maintenance? What are the best years to be looking at for used, I am leaning toward a ford powered gasser.
FWIW I will put a good solar system on whatever I buy and they all get poor mileage from what I see. The depreciation is really mindboggling and I would like to take advantage of that fact.
