As a trucker, I can tell you that you are hated when you are on the truck island with any type of vehicle other than a truck. I'm not saying it is right, but it is the truth. Most truck stops have an RV island with easy access.
I disagree. As long as they are getting fuel and not holding things up or taking up parking at night I never really cared. I slept in truck stop because I had few other choices. Never really understood why someone with a nice Class A wanted to slum it out in a truck stop. But, each to their own. I buy fuel at the RV pumps when I can but if the RV area looks like a zoo and I have my 5er, I'll head to the truck Fuel Island.
As for the difference in price between commercial and non it has to do with road taxes. With the new electronic pumps, the pump can figure it out based on if you put a DOT number in. Older fuel stops often had a pump set up for non-commercial fuel so the attendant did not have to do the math. My Pilot/Flying J card can figure it out and I've not had a problem at the pump (except for Milton PA). The individual at the Fuel Desk may be math challenged and thus the blew you off.
