stupid rv

Ever have one of those days where everything seems to break or stop working all at the same time? Backup camera doesn't want to work, generator runs for about 10 sec then shuts down, new 110v outlet kicks off breaker, black spots on roof won't come off except with a brillo pad which took the paint off too, one of the tire pressure sensors stopped working, I think the engine drive belts need replacing, new LED clearance lights don't have enough room to cover the wire nuts hooking up all the wires like the old ones do, water level sensors still don't work, there's something growing in the refrigerator, and now the toilet flush valve is dripping water all over the place. I get one project done, 2 more things pop up. Still, assuming the toilet valve shows up tomorrow, I'm good to go for the tailgate party - fireworks party monday night.

    Exactly!!

    I try to repair each thing that needs it on our RV so that, if possible, it will never happen again.

    This requires really scratching my head at times and looking around on the NET or in hardware stores for better approaches than what the RV's manufacturer used. If I can't repair something better than it originally was, then I try to carry spare parts in the RV so that I can at least fix it again if needed while on a trip.

    EU2000 works (will power everything but ac) Grill cleaned, tested, fueled ready to go, outside speakers installed, tested. refrigerator works (kinda, warms up quickly when you leave the door open :) inside cleaned and vacuumed, outside chairs and tables loaded. Heading to the store for drinks and snacks. weather clear in mid 70's, someone else paying for fireworks. Should be a good day.

    When I have a bad day, I fill a large plastic mug with Strawberry Hill wine and stick it in the freezer until it turns into a slush. It helps me chill out and put things into perspective. Then, I tackle one problem at a time. I also count my blessings. Just turn on the local news for a few minutes and see all the robberies and murders. It makes me appreciate my life, my pets and my RV. Then I feel I can tackle the repairs without getting upset. The wine really helps!

    Some days suggest finding a hole, crawling in, then pulling the hole in after yourself. Hope you get 'em all straightened out. Mind the edges while enjoying those fireworks!
