I was wondering if it is possible to supercharge my V10 Ford engine? I want more power when towing up hills.
Well Sir,
While it's been done now and then, and of the ones I've seen in person, I've seen no devastating results from such an application. But, one of the problems in adding any form of "over aspiration" of a stock engine that's not designed for it is, you run the risk of engine damage due to too much compression. I'm certainly no engine designer or, engineer but, in many engines with either a turbo charger or, super charger that's factory installed, the compression ratio is lower, or so I'm lead to believe.
We'd all like more power up the grades and, it's too bad that there's no magic pill that will accomplish that goal without any form of side effects. Another problem is, finding cubic space inside that engine compartment to mount it. As you most likely know, there's not a lot of "extra" room in most of those engine compartments. Good luck.

P.S. I had the Banks kit on our previous coach, a '99 Fleetwood Bounder, 34V w/ the V-10. It was the 275 HP version and, while I never drove it before it had the Banks kit installed, I took possession of it after it had been. It was not a tire burning vehicle. So, I cannot attest to its performance before but, as we drove it, it was fine but, nothing to write home about.
