I have recently had issues with the BlueOx Patriot Braking System. It has applied the brakes in an emergency fashion, as though the breakaway function was activated. The breakaway device was not even installed. BlueOx was no help, denying any culpability or reasoning for the action. I was wondering who else may have had this experience.

This is a meaningless response, but you're topic really got my attention. My old age and poor eye sight is playing tricks on me. I though your topic was "Supplemental BANKING system" and it really got my attention. My wife accuses me of having selective "old age" hearing, but now my eyes! I am getting old! I can't wait for the Alzheimers now ... then my mind will forget I even wrote this!

Are we talking about the kind for cornering a vehicle, or cornering our money in?

I see the word Braking. But I have my glasses on.Other than that I can not be of any help. I have a BB.

The unit works by inertia so if the road was rough, or you hit a large bump, that could be the reason for the brakes to be applied.

Although mine is not a Blue OX, when I first got the toad I found that laying directly on the floor with the seat up against it, it would sometimes activate the brakes as it was leaning forward.I now set it on a short piece of 2x6 board that raises it up and it contacts a better part of the seat. That keeps it level and eliminated the issue.

Do you have to operate the blue ox system 5 times to bleed the vacuum out of the power brake booster? This step is required with the brake buddy system to keep from locking the brakes the first few times the brake buddy activates.

I have the Blue Ox Patriot and I have no idea what you are talking about so I hope the answer is NO.

If a person USES enough safety chains AND cables...the toad may "break loose" but its never going on a trip of its own down the highway

Yep if got the safety chains it shouldn't leave you, but what going to happen when you stop? Your toad is going to run in to YOU.And tear up your toad and the back of the MH. But if the break away applies your toads brake and you have the safety cables you'll drag your toad until you stop so it doesn't run into someone else or into you.Might save a lot of your money.
