I had a Surge Guard. It lasted 1 year (plugged in 24x7x365), except when actually traveling on the road. I've had 2 different PI's since. First one got stolen, second one has lasted over 3 years now.
If I get another one, it will probably be a PI again.
Your choice as to the "beefieness" of the unit and what they display and "read out". Personally, I wanted something that just shut down if there was a problem. I don't sit around a fret over ever minor power flux, but that's just me! I've got too much camping to do instead. But, I'm also not driving a $300,000 motor coach either!
