Thanks for the reply's. For some reason the tag tires are different that the rest and...for unknown reasons, the PO used on/off road extra heavy duty tires designed for concrete trucks, and the like. As for the wear pattern, tough to tell with only 10K mile on them even though they're 6 yo as they have a very deep tread so basically they look like new.
About using the tag tires as a spare, tough to see how that would work since I can't drive more than ~15 mph with the tag up and I would still have to buy a new tire.
Still, something to consider and these tires in this service might just last for many years without issue.
I wouldn't try to drive any distance with the tag lifted as you may be over loading your drive axle.
We used our tag tires as 'spares' when I received a bad alignment from Colton Truck in Colton, CA. I didn't notice the severe where until 2,000 miles away from CA.
Our front tires started wearing noticeably on the inner edges on both. So, I had a shop in Nashville (TAFA...Tire Axle Frame & Alignment) switch the front tires to my fresh looking tags. All was well for a couple of years until it was time for new tires due to age.
TAFA gave me the best alignment that Dynasty ever had.
I would try and keep all the tires on the coach the same size just for ease of changing if needed.
