Tailgater satellite--pros and cons in various campgrounds

We just purchased the Dish Tailgater. For the most part I love it. But I have an issue that i was wondering if anyone has had this problem. The only way I can get a signal is to run the Coax directly from the Satellite to the receiver. (Thru a Window) If I use the built in satellite coax connection for the living room i can not locate a single satellite? I have checked the RV connection and all are tight. Has anyone heard of this type of problem? Thanks Dennis
