Taking Apart Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar

Wanting to get my Roadmaster tow bar apart. On the Roadmaster web site it says to remove the round nut at the end of the inner arm so it can be taken out the end of the outer arm. My problem is how to hold the inner arm to turn the round nut off, it's on there tight. I hate to use a pipe wrench to hold it and put marks on the arm. I am afraid if I don't hold the arm I might break the locking pin?
Thanks for all comments

Why do you want to take it apart? What is the problem? Couple years ago, my Roadmaster, one of the telescopic arms would not telescope. Made hitching up a bit of a challenge, but we did it....3 times....due to back-in-only cg sites while on the road.
Roadmaster has a "lifetime warranty". All you gotta do is call them, get a return number and send it to them. While the rebuild is free....UPS cost me $94 to pack and ship it. Returned completely rebuilt within 2 weeks.

I called Roadmaster they said $150.00 plus parts if needed, plus since the tow bar is over 10 years old or 70,000 miles it is time for a new one.
So I sent for a repair kit $25.00 and I am trying to do it my self.
