I don't see why it wouldn't. One of 2 things would happen:
1) The part of the cheap plastic fascia that the switch was attached to would break and stay with the breakaway switch, therefore pulling the pin when the vehicle separates from the MH
or
2) The switch would tear away from the wires which, I certainly hope, would still activate the breaking mechanism since there is no longer a connection there.
