when the whole basepate comes off, how is a ready brake going to prevent that.
The ReadyBrake breakaway mechanism is mounted on the frame of the car and is activated by a cable attached to the frame of the MH. It is purely mechanical, so no electrical connections are needed. The cable pulls through the mechanism, which only allows the cable to move in one direction, and the cable is directly attached to the brake pedal in the car. There is a soft link in the cable that breaks once the brakes on the toad are applied. It's a simple and effective system.
