The rise is 6". Adding another connection is not doing any benefits to the integrity of our towing setup. We already have the Blue Ox immobilizer II on both connections at top and bottom to stop the slop in the hitch setup. Putting in another extension like this Ready Brake would worry me to death.
I use a 4" riser on our Landau to level the ReadyBrute Elite tow bar. It makes no difference at all in the braking performance. I did add a homemade "immobilizer" to take the extra play out of the riser though.
