Talk about dodging a BULLET !!!

I installed the Blue Ox baseplate on our PT Cruiser. We have a good installer in Memphis, but costly. And I avoided some embarrassment. Turns out my PT had been in a frontal collision in its past. If memory serves me right, I am the 2nd owner. Don't know if 1st owner or auction buyer, but it was "cootiebobbed" back together. The steel bumper was left off all together including the bolts needed to install the baseplate in its place. Of course now the baseplate is the bumper so I am that much safer. The lower radiator support was left off. Then as we drilled the holes for the tow bar mounts, the paint started flaking off and is still in that process. No primer! But I must say I really didn't see much of a good area to mount any kind of break-away point on the subframe.

Don't know if its best to go with a tow dolly (a 36' MH is already hard to get in to most sites much less storing a tow dolly), renting a car at our destination (tried that - not good), or go back to truck/trailer RVing.
