Texas Safety Inspection

Looks like you've found an answer but, just in case you run into an issue, I have mine inspected by a shop on Bingle (between I-10 & 290). They're quick and accommodating.

PM me if you need details - I left my papers in the coach but it's right around the corner and I can get them without any fuss.

the laws have changed. no one has ever driven our coach (for inspection) either, nor would i let them....they have in the past inspected the coach in the parking lot.

New laws (one sticker) have either confused shops or requires them to have the vehicle in a bay.

i called around and TWO different placed said if it didnt fit in their bay they could not inspect it.

Inspect Connect has wirelessly connected equipment that allows them to inspect ANYTHING in or out of their garage bay.

Last year, I took my 2011 Storm to Kwik Car, one of those oil change and basic service places that also does inspections. Even though I'm in a county that requires emissions testing, they told me they didn't have to drive it into a bay because RVs are exempt from Texas emissions testing. I think all they did was check turn signals and other basic stuff. I didn't ask too many questions because they gave me my sticker and sent me on my way.

My usual inspection place said they can no longer inspect our coach because it won't fit in their building !?!? Its never had to be in their building/bay before, and they've always inspected it IN the parking lot !

Kevin provides a hassle free inspection, he's a good friendly guy, and while he's not the most conveniently located (for me) - he's worth the trip.

Thanks for your responses! I went out a while ago asking around and found a nearby Jiffy Lube where they say that, since it's a 1994 and only needs a safety inspection, they'll be happy to do it. I was particularly gratified that the fellow I asked actually made inquiries to make sure he had the correct answer.

I called my dealer and even though they don't do them, they refereed me to a place near them that does.

I do ours at a Jiffy Lube in Boerne. Apparently not all inspection stations can perform inspections on motorhomes due to the width of the unit.
