I am in the group with Big Rabbit. Our coach is 40 this year. Yes, it needs paint as what was put on by PO (in Mexico) cannot be polished. It only has 140K on it and I will do my more or less regular winter work and a few minor upgrades while she is in our barn. We did over 10K this last season and are expecting (planning) to do more than 12K this next.
If you have any coach, not just an older one, you HAVE to do (or get done by a reliable person) all the required maintenance - At Least. Anything less and you will have an unreliable POS in short order.
