I only carry the State Farm ERS ryder on my cars. They do not stray far from home and I know where I want my vehicles towed and who to call if I have an issue.
On my RV I have the State Farm ryder and Coachnet. If I brake down in the middle of nowhere I want help and a nice easy 800 number to call.
Does service count against your insurance, depends on company, type of polcy and state laws.
That being said, I broke down close to the middle of no where, Hells canyon WY. No cell phone service, little traffic! A samaratin sent the Sheriff and he told me he had no idea where to get a tow truck. Another samaratin got me going and I made it to Newcastle WY to get the issue fixed.
