The blade tips on a Sikorsky are kept under the speed of sound, that means the jet engines spin at 20k rpm's and the transmission must reduce that to 180 rpms to keep under the speed of sound. I like the WH concept because it eliminates the heavy transmission and utilizes 4 small engines, counter rotating blades eliminates the tail rotor. I new two guys that designed a 2 seat helicopter for the price of a BMW but they still could not sell them commercially. I would like to see what they priced this at.
