- shaneperchExplorerPlease who ever mods this forum. I request that this thread be closed as I don't want to upset anyone. If I had forgive me it was not intentional
- shaneperchExplorerI was not trying to stir a pot or trying to upset anyone. I honestly resent some of the high horse posts to be honest. I can't believe some people get mad at a question. So I will end this topic with the fact that ALL motorhomes ALL chassis all fridges all central vacs ice makers generators all exactly the same quality and not to question quality, so no-one will be upset. I am so sorry that I had the nerve to ask about quality. I will assume that every manufacturer and every style of construction is identical in quality and never ever ask anything again pertaining to the differences to quality. Just like I will from now on feel a Hugo is as good as a Mercedes in every way. Then I won't get flamed.

Actually the OP posts good questions. He may likely have alteria motives and wish to stir the pot, but their are both good and bad manufacturers and you can not identify them easily from various posts here or else where.
The posts that indicate it is the user are silly. Was the Yugo, the Pacer, or the Vega equivalent to the best of both foreign and domestic production? I have owned f-150s, hondas, and ..... All better than many other production. Similarly Newmars and others are better than some also rans IMO.
As I previously stated we are to biased about our homes to get to a real answer here about other MHs. While the OP questions are good his stirring the pot is not IMO. We should still answer some of his questions even if we ignore his stirring the pot IMO.
I know we all love our rigs, but we still need to help determine better builders from less better builders. This everyone deserves a trophy for just showing up mentality has got to go. They may be very nice people for showing up, but that does not mean we should spend our hard earned dollars on them (We are talking about 6 months to a years difference in working lives or more here :E :S) As a side note I would kill for an extra year of life traveling in my MH (OK kill is an exaggeration) - workhardplayha1Explorer

- shaneperchExplorerI asked if it was a bad motorhome. There are people that hate Corvettes there are people that hate Harley Davidson motorcycles there are people that hate Hatteras Yachts, Don't negate the goodness of these products cause someone feels they are inferior. Some people feel that Scott stereo gear is great some don't some people think that Bose are a rip off and others swear by them. Just because I love Klipsch and rather have them then Bose speakers and because I rather have a Thorens Turntable than whatever doesn't negate that person who loves Bose. Same thing with RVs If you told me that Holiday Rambler is a pile of junk,, (there are people that feel that way I am sure) Don't matter to me? as your quote says "lie is short, death is long, Take a vacation." should be taken seriously. If someone gets bent out of shape cause I had the NERVE!!!!!!!!!!!! to ask this question,, they need to take their motorhome out for 1000 mile trip and ENJOY LIFE for God's sake.
- Sea_DogExplorerWhy don't you go on a car collectors site and mention
that a fifty six Corvette is the worst car ever built?
To say that Open Roads are the most cheaply made
is sure to be a put down to someone! - shaneperchExplorer

If your looking at a 1979 Model, you're wanting to by CHEAP.
I have no choice but to buy older as I can't afford 6 figures for a toy. I know a lot more about buses than motorhomes My HR is my second motorhome. I know how buses are built and they are much different than gas powered class A motorhomes. Most buses are not built on a chassis like the motorhomes are except for the Gillig Phantom or schoolies. Anyway I know that there are three types of motorhome construction. steel framed wood framed or aluminum framed I know that Vogues was a good one Winnebagos are good according to most owners, Travco was good and Apollo was good. that is about all I know. I have no clue how good coachmen is or how good Georgie boy is. now that someone posted the question on a GB I learned how they are constructed. Seeking knowledge is a fun and rewarding endeavor and the easiest way to obtain it is what we all would like. So asking questions is a great way to learn. - Archie_KravitzExplorerIf your looking at a 1979 Model, you're wanting to by CHEAP.
- iamcanuck45ExplorerTo the OP:
If, as you say, you have owned buses or motorhome since you were 29, then you should have a good idea on what the answer is, unlesss you are 30. What is cheap and terrible is in the eye of the beholder. Everyone has an opinion on what make a great motorhome. I would also think that every manufacturer has had their ups and downs. :B
