- rgatijnet1Explorer IIIIn my coach I had a zone 2 sensor that was behind a small white plastic grill. The sensor itself was just a bulb on the end of a wire.
The Zone 1 sensor was actually the thermostat itself. My thermostat was located on an exterior wall and constantly gave erroneous readings.
I took the thermostat loose and mounted it with a piece of 1" styrofoam behind it and the temperature control was a lot more accurate in my coach. - GoldencrazyExplorerMy thermostat is on inside wall thenother side of half bath. The sensor i found is zone one as i can clearly boost the temp by warming with my finger.
- rgatijnet1Explorer IIIThe sensors are tied to the electrical board on the AC unit itself. If you want to see if there are three sensors, just pull the lower cover from the AC unit and look at the electrical circuit board. On mine they were clearly labeled.
- You should have the RVP Zone Control tstat. If you have found the 1 zone sensor with the plastic Oval shaped mount, you will find the other 2 if you look on walls or the ceiling. MOST(I have never see it any other way) motorhome Oem's make zone 1 the front. Zone 2 the middle and Zone 3 the rear. Doug
- SoloExplorerFrom the Winnebago/Itasca Owner's Manual for the 2013 Ellipse regardless of what model you have:
• ZONE 1 - Bedroom Bath Area
• ZONE 2 - Living/Galley Area
• ZONE 3 - Front Cab Area
Depending upon which model you have, for the QD Model, Zone 2 sensor located in galley, located to the left of range, just under the countertop edge. Zone 3 located on driver's side, toward top right side of the TV/Fireplace area. Cannot speak to the GD model. - GoldencrazyExplorerThanks Solo. Found all three. Yes Doug the numbering made no sense to me either but there it is in the manual. Thanks all for the help. It is the QD.

Only Winnebago would do the complete opposite of what the other OEM's do in zone install. Doug- GoldencrazyExplorerSure had me fooled initially. Taught me not to assume anything.

I do not know what their logic was but, for the 2011 and 2012 models of the Ellipse, the zones are opposite of your 2013-it was changed with that model year.
I just hope that with all of this now that I don't forget that our coach has Zone 1 for the front most living area :h - GoldencrazyExplorerVery interesting. I too wonder why. It appears my zone three is not kicking in.
