We found in our full-timing years that when you let the repair facility know that it is your home, they get it done - fast. They don't put it on the back lot and try to work it in.
Some repairs can be done in a couple days and they will work on it during the day and move it out of the bay so you can sleep in it at night - most of the time providing electric. During the day you pack a cooler and take off siteseeing, go to a movie, museums, take a blanket or chair to the park and read, go shopping, have a nice lunch, etc.
All things are possible when you're a full-timer. Your time is flexible and needing repair in a strange area is a good time to explore that area using your towed vehicle.
One full-timer was having their motorhome completely renovated during the summer and they took the ferry up to Alaska and rented a RV to keep them occupied. When they returned the renovations were completed.
