One question I have is you see 40 ft DP with 8 rear wheels and others of the same or close to the same size with 4 rear wheels. What is the decision making process to decide on one from the other? I am clueless on this issue and would appreciate your help with it.
The second axle only has 2 tires on it and is referred to as a Tag Axle. If you do a scan through the posts here or a search you will find all the information you would need to know about them repeated over and over. That question seems to come up at least once a week.
As for plugging in at freinds' houses: You can run a main A/C on 20amp and a couple little things like an LED TV at the same time but that's about it. There is a very smart but not cheap power converter/inverter that will boost your coach 110v with the inverter while plugged into 20amp service using the house batteries to cover high demands. I wish I could remember who makes it but it would be something to consider.
But the problem also is most residential outlets are 15 amps. They also supply power to multiple outlets so you have to see what else may be plugged in to the same circuit too. For example all my outdoor outlets are on one 15 amp circuit, and the brain surgeon who wired them also put the one garage outlet on them that was designed to plug in a freezer. So my garage freezer shares an outlet with the one I plug my motorhome into at home.
