msmith1199 gave excellent advice about buying a small home/condo now and renting. But, only if you want to be a landlord. Personally, I just wouldn't want to be a landlord but everybody has their comfort level.
JimM68, a tag doesn't weigh 10,000 lbs. itself, it allow you to carry additional weight (if I read your post correctly). I would think the axle itself weights about 2,500-3,000 lbs. And generally, the tag can be adjusted to carry more weight and/or shift weight in the coach. More weight pressure put on the tag will take weight off the drive but will also add weight to the front axle.
I have seen some Super-C's with a drive and tandem axle that have a total of 8 tires on the back. I was kinda surprised when I looked at the guy parked next to me to see a dually tag while visiting at a RV park in Malibu, CA. I kinda wondered if both were drive axles too?
