Well, it's not so much my personal experience as it is the most common word I hear is that they do not make a particularly good coach. They usually have the lowest price and build accordingly. That may NOT be true of the Tuscany line.
The experience I did have was in walking through close to 100 coaches at the Tampa RV show. The Thor ones stood out head and shoulders above the crowd as the worst fit and finish. They looked real nice, don't get me wrong, but when you actual touched most stuff it was a different story.
I only went through Gas coaches so, like I mentioned, the Tuscany might be decent. There is another popular RV forum called irv2.com and they have manufacturer specific forums. Head over there and take a look at what Thor owners themselves have to say.
As far as insulation and not hearing noises outside... um.... I like to leave the AC fan on constant low when I sleep. There are things that help like dual pane windows, vent inserts and such. Really high end coaches might have better insulation as well but still nothing like an actual house can be.
