That's good info 2gypsies. My personal plan on the rental property is to buy something that I could live in, but that isn't a requirement. The reason I want to maintain a property is so I don't get out of the real estate market in cases prices climb back up again. As long as you're in the market the value goes up too. Also in California, once you buy you're property taxes are protected from going up more than 1% a year. So depending on a lot of factors when I decide I don't want to full time in a motorhome anymore I know I have a place to live, and if for some reason I don't want to live in that place, I can always sell and buy something different.
