We are on our second ACE. Started with a 2012 29.1 and now currently a 2013 29.2. As has been stated it's an entry level MH and I was realistic in my expectations. For an Entry level it offers a lot of bang for your buck. It's well thought out in design and layout and has tons of storage. The bunk is great but it does have a weight limit of 250#. I think the bunk in the Hurricane is almost 3x that so based on your budget you may want to check that out. Likely the bunk, dinette, or sofa will not be comfortable for an adult let alone 2 for any length of time. For a weekend it could work. I have no real complaints with the ACE and Thor has been stellar in dealing with any issues that have arisen but they have been small. AS an example, the faucet had a leak. Thor stepped up , replaced the entire countertop and paid my dealer to install a residential Moen faucet of my choosing. Not too many manufacturers that would have done that. In our new unit the genset seized up with only 10 hours on it but that was an onan issue and they replaced quickly and for free. As far as one AC, it can be tough to manage while driving in very hot weather (90+). The real issue is the gen set getting hot and shutting down in self protect mode. Only an issue in traffic jams when you aren't moving but it's a result of placement of the gen right behind the engine where it gets extra heat. Thor paid for my dealer to install a vented bin door and it seemed to fix the issue - again I am not sure another manufacturer would step up to a creative solution like that. Other than that the MH has been trouble free and very enjoyable. It rides pretty nice for an entry level MH and we love it. We put 50k miles on our 29.1 and it was virtually trouble free once shakedown items were addressed. 13k miles on the 29.2 and again no issues to speak of. The V-10 has PLENTY of power even towing our CRV over the Appalachians. My only real want on the ace would be slam latches on the bin doors. The old style turn latches are cheap. I will say I don't like the new grill on the 2016 model. I love the chrome double door grill on mine. Not sure why they changed it. Easy to use and can access the whole front of the engine. The new grill looks like it was modeled after the Hurricane. But that's just my opinion.
