USMC46 - I agree with your comment that Michelin likely makes the best tires. However, Michelin makes tires in many countries. My front former steer tires were 315 22.5 and made in Spain. After 4 1/2 years I replaced the tires as they were worn out. On those Michelins the sidewalls were somewhat oxidized. I had four drive tires of the same age also Michelin. Those were 295 22.5. Those were made in the USA. I replaced those after 5 2/3 years. Absolutely no sidewall oxidation on the USA made tires. I do not think the Spanish made Michelin's were unsafe, but my point was the rubber compound was obviously different.
It is possible that Michelin will impose strict quality control for their China factory. Apple has done a great job of getting great work from their factories there. But when I buy Michelins in the future I am going to look for the Made in USA label.
