Tire Monitors

I am considering a tire monitoring system for my MH and towable, 10 wheels, 60 feet overall length. Who makes the most reliable, low maintenance system?

  • I have the Tireminder monitors. They work great and they have wonderful customer support.
  • Another Truck Systems Technologies 510 system user. Over winter I remove the sensors to save battery power. Come spring air the tire up as necessary, install the sensors and pretty much I'm go for the camping season. If I need to remove the sensors to add air there's a tire problem or I moved some where with very different temperatures. Dash receiver hears all six coach wheels and the four on the toad without the need for a repeater (32' coach).
  • We have the Tire Minder on our 5ver. Works great. One faulty sensor and great customer service getting it replaced. DW got me 4 sensors for the truck for Christmas.

X2. Very pleased with my 10 sensor TST507 system. Wired my repeater into the rear clearance lights. The company provides great customer service.

I have a TST 507 flow through. My personal experience - I have had one sensor completely fail due to corrosion inside the sensor and 2 don't actually flow through. You have to remove those sensors to air up. Not a huge deal but sort of makes the flow through option a moot point. That said, the unit works great, fairly accurate as I can tell and TST is fabulous with customer support. They replaced my defective sensor for free and they are very nice and well informed when you call with questions. 4 stars. I'd give 5 but the one defective sensor and the fact that 2 won't air up with it on forces my hand. They did tell me that with extensions they sometimes won't air up, I tested this on my truck and they were right. So maybe it's less of a design/product issue and more of an issue with the extensions. Most people have extenders on their rear duals though so you would think they would have worked through it, but at least it's explainable.
  • Have had Pressure Pros on for more than ten years. Have replaced all of the senders by this point - the batts last about 8 years.

Started out with 8, went to 10 with the new truck and then 14 with the large fiver so my sender ages were staggered.

I have an antenna under the rear of the truck that is hard wired to the dash readout in order to get reliable signals from the trailer tires.

Been very happy with the system. Best feature is ability to scroll through the pressures every time I climb in the truck - especially nice on a cold, rainy morning!
