j-d: Thanks for the advice on loading and recommended percentages. Gives me some guidance as to what to shoot for. I will move as much heavy stuff as I can to the front passenger seat/footwell (since I don't carry another human).
The day I purchased it, on the way home I stopped and weighed it, completely unloaded (I wasn't in it either when they did the weight) with 1/3 tank of gas, no water or propane. It was Front=3340, Rear=6320, Gross = 9660, so not far off from what Mich F had for his similar unit when new. When I weighed it this weekend, I was really shooting for a "worst case" scenario with gasoline full, propane full, fresh water nearly full, and also some in gray and black tanks. Also three 2.5 gallon carboys of drinking water, where I will probably max need two. All my kitchen stuff, etc is in there, so I will add some minor food/clothing (I'm sure less than 40 pounds total). I don't think I'm carrying a lot of extra stuff--the right upper cabinets are still basically empty ...
What is really loading up my rear is the cargo carrier (40#, plus about 50-60# of exercise pens etc. for dogs) mounted on the hitch receiver. I need to carry this stuff, and there's really nowhere else to transport it. I also have a small air compressor and my extra electrical cord, etc, in the right rear outside compartment. You're right, there isn't much storage at all. ;-)
