Had 4 Hankook 245/70R19.5 A11 installed at Bruneel Tire yesterday.
Date codes on all were in Feb 2013. Tires looked good, no evidence of being stored outdoors.
Felt good on short highway trip. 14PR G rated.
Several surprises:
Made in China. If I had known that, I'd have chosen another tire. I knew that Hankook have a number of factories in different countries but I thought it was reported that this size was made in a democratic country. However I didn't specify that to Bruneel, and they ordered the tires in so I felt it only right to honor my order.
When I asked about warranty, they said they had none on these tires. Upon further discussion, they said only the Hankook factory warranty stated on the Hankook site. I read that warranty and was OK with it.
I tried to sell the take-off's on Craigs List for $50 each but got no interest so I was going to give them to a friend. However, when I told Bruneel that a friend would pick them up, they said they figured $20/tire into my price to keep them for retreading and resale. This may be worth bringing up when negotiating price if planning to keep/sell the take-offs.
Lastly, they wrote $1350 plus tax on the work order. I reminded that they quoted $1350 "out the door" and they honored that quote.
Summary: Would recommend Bruneel, good price, good service, did what they said on-time. Properly torqued lug nuts - not over or under.
