Tires: 245/70R/19.5

My tires will be 6 years old in 3 months and even though the sidewalls and tread groves look really good, I am going to replace them now. Also, I am headed to Canada and Alaska in 7 weeks so I am going to bite the bullet and get it done and have peace of mind.
I currently have Toyos which have been pretty good tires for the 24,000 miles that I have had them. No problems whatsoever. However I would like to consider a few options as long as I willl be shelling out $2-3,000. So if anyone wants to share their experiences on the better quality brands such as Michelin, Goodyear, Bridgestone, etc I would love to hear from you. Also, what ply is recommended? I think my current Toyos are an H ply. Thanks so much

    Similar to the OP, I'm looking to replace 6 245/70R19.5 tires with Michelin. I notice you picked the XZE instead of the XRV. I'd appreciate knowing what drives the decision to go one way or the other.

    Not sure if you are still asking me or if I already answered however, the XZE I had for 7 years were a perfect ride for me. No sign whatsoever of any cracks or other problems. Even the tire place said you should sell them (my old ones) as they inspected and said years left (lot of good that does me as my new tires were already on).

    There are several good tires out there, but mostly they are Michelin, Toyo, and Hankook.

    For the money, longevity, etc., I always go with Hankook. The others are good though.

Yes, it is costing me more but I will be happy on the road. My second choice was R250 bridgestone but they were just about same price.

    If you look at the charts, for a specific weight, the air pressure required to carry that load is exactly the same for F, G, or H rated tires.
    The difference is that the G or H rated tires will carry more weight, but you have to increase the tire pressure to utilize that extra weight carrying capacity.
    If your weight remains constant, so will your air pressure, no matter whether the tires are F or G rated.

    i am into my 3rd set of 24570R19.5 LRF Michelins on my old 1997 Itasca.
    Couldn't be happier. Pay a little more but get a LOT more quality, IMHO.

    We've been running Bridgestone R250F series All-Position Radial 245/70x19.5 load range "G" tires now for over 15 years without any issues, based on our experience with the Bridgestone Tire Brand I can highly recommend them.

    If an FMCA member, check for pricing of Michelin (inc B.F Goodich) AND just added last month, Continental (including General Tire) on FMCA's website.

    I have been running Double Coins from Les Schwab tires for many years.
    Much less expensive then comparable Toyos. They are commonly used around here on delivery vehicles.
