It is such a bear to get to those slides from what I hear. Any advice on where to look for instructions on how to get those out? I hate to pay someone but might have to since the torgue on the front wheels is 135 to 145 and I do not have a torque wrench that goes past 100. Generally do all my own work on my other vehicles but this is a beast.
Its big but no different than any other car or truck. Pick up a torgue wrench that goes to 160 or so lbs. Most cost under 50 bucks. Odds are it will have a short handle but you can find a piece of pipe to make it longer. Been using one like that for years. Also recheck the wheels after 100 miles or so and check them all several times a season.. I can take off the front wheels, pull the brake calipers and regrease them, check the pads and not unhook the brake line from the calipers in about 2 hours with a few cups of coffee while doing it.. You can remove and install the front wheels and tires by using a flat tire bar or crow bar under them to lift them with. Minor work..
