Finally the day has come. The dealer has our new to us, 37' Holiday Rambler Admiral ready for the walk through. If everything checks out ok I will finally own it today. The process started about 6 weeks ago back in March. I have already taken it on a shakedown run and mechanically everything checked out.
Ive got a list of things to review but I am sure I am missing some things. What should I add to the list beside the basics? What are the things people normally forget to look for?
Biggest overlook with supposedly being quite thorough, I think, is the failure to have the seller fill all tanks to max. so that any leaks might be detected. The grey and black tanks could turn into a real nightmare if there's a leak in one of them and especially with the black one.I realize that filling the fuel tank might have to be negotiated, but well worth it, since you'll be the one burning the fuel anyway. Before doing so, though and since most likely it won't have much fuel in it, be sure the generator will run for a while and is not losing it's fuel pickup from the tank with sucking air or other after getting down some. The tank will most likely have to be more than a 1/4 full for this test and something you want to be sure of, otherwise you may have to drop the fuel tank for a new hose or other repairs.
You might have mentioned the year of the coach, gas or diesel and the chassis for just in case there are some known issues to be aware of.
