I had a small rip almost like yours, I don't have the metal sleeve. But the rip was right next to the track on the MH. I used the Gorilla Tape still going strong into my second year like that. I may replace it this year when we get back to RGV for the winter. My MH is 2006, think I got my use out of the awning, it time for me to replace the awning.
