Well, the pistol is slick. I had a SW model 66. It was a great firearm.
Bout the fuel running back to the tank. My wife has a 2000 model Volvo. It has fuel injection. We have an issue with loosing pressure on the fuel rail. There is a check valve on the fuel pump that is getting weak. It may be that you have a check valve of some description going out.
When it gets hot out, combined with heat radiating off of the engine causes a sort of vapor lock and forces fuel to vaporize and possibly boil pushing it to the through the weakest point, usually back to the tank.
