In 1989 my wife and I bought a 1977 Dodge van and turned it into a camper van. It was a "Vantastic" conversion with a certain Elvis Presley, Mississippi Riverboat, 70's porn star feel. So, a lot of the work was already done. But, I bought a cheesy book on how to customize a van. It was helpful for wiring an extra battery, etc..
