Yes that is the Eternabond I first put Eternabond over it and then a strip of vally tin, (Aluminum) and then eternabond over it again, It is the Cloth back 4" wide eternabond roof seal, That is the kind that you need, Cloth backing eternabond, But its was like $135 for a 4"x50' roll,....Great stuff and the cloth back can be painted over.
Valley tin? If you mean something like the flashing that you might use on a roof around a chimney, then, a great idea! A bit of extra mechanical strength, clean surface for the stuff to stick to, and doesn't cost a heck of a lot. Sure, adds a bit of thickness to the whole works. I'll take thickness/not-leaking over a leak any day.
A couple rolls of cloth backed 4" wide (and a roll of 6" just in case) gonna be on order here shortly.
Are you sure it wasn't $135 for 2 rolls of 4"x50ft? The Eternabond website shows it for about $68 for a single 4"x50ft roll.
Also, the website says that the cloth backed stuff (Eternabond Webseal) needs a top coat for UV protection. What about that? I'd imagine you don't put that over the top, and you're looking at wrecked Eternabond down the road a couple of years.
