The PD 4655 is a slide in replacement for the converter. Fairly simple to swap out. Generally considered more reliable and definently runs quieter. The PD has 2 fans vs one which may be part of the reliability thing.
Will it last a year or two, probably so. Unless your continually using it at full capacity to charge drained batteries.
