On mine it has a steel frame all the way around the RV and the overhead bunk area and when I ran the wood frame I used 5 inch bolts and went through the 2x2 the steel frame and the other 2x2 on the back side, So there is two 2x2's with a steel frame in the middle of this with long bolts through all three.
