Hello All, I am new to all this and still learning, so why do you call the vehicle you are towing a Dingy?

Well, since we're discussing the right english... your title to this post was:
"tow vehicle"
So, just so we're talking the right english... a "tow vehicle" is one that is DOING the towing...not the one being towed. Your title should have read:
"Towed Vehicle"
Ok, now back to the story...
