As far as chassis, I would opt for a W22 chassis, which will also have an 8.1 engine. This may mean bumping up a few years. The Ford counterpart of that era was really not as good, tended to ride rough, and less power. In that class of coach, you will forget the toad is back there on the freeway. Backing up can be done, only in a straight line, and only if the Jeep steering wheel is locked. The caster effect works against you - try back up a grocery cart and watch what the front wheels do.
Next part of your decision will be choosing a towbar and braking system. I strongly recommend ReadyBrute towbar, with integrated braking. It is simple, dependable, and works very well. It is inexpensive because it is simple, not because it is cheap.
