TPMS Recommendations

The new Tireminder system has the ability to get the tire information even when you are not going down the road.

TST 507. As noted above, replaceable batteries. Company has great customer service.

I've had a Pressure Pro for a number of years now and not had any problems. Have not had to replace any sensors yet so I suppose I'm due.
I look at it like insurance and would not be without one.

I bought the TST system last year and have been very pleased. Being new to RVing with a 33' Class A and a toad I unknowingly overheated my brakes on a long downgrade. I learned about my problem when the heat sensor alarm went off in my TST pressure/temperature monitor. I was able to pull over before any harm was done. They also alerted me to a very slow leak in the valve stem on one of my inner rear duals So yes, I'm very pleased.

I currently have the inexpensive ones, when I replace these in a few years I'll get the ones that mount inside the tire.

I replaced our TST 510 TPMS with the TST 507 after a bit more than 5 years of very satisfied usage when the batteries started going out. However, TST charges $20 to refurbish each 510 sensor when the batteries are dying, and they offered me an excellent deal to move to the 507 with user replaceable batteries instead. I just ordered new batteries for our ten 507 sensors at a cost of $9.15 for two 5-packs, or about $0.91 each. Even rounding off to $1 makes the battery cost just $5 over the course of the 5 year expected life of the non-user replaceable battery sensors. And no need to send them in and wait for the return shipping. That seems like a pretty good deal to me...

Hmmmm, interesting. I have the Tire Minder, and my tires show tire pressure when the tires are stationary. How do I know?? Well, in the early morning, the pressures are lower, and later as the day warms up their indicated pressure rises. Do you suppose they don't report temperature changes as often when the tires are stationary????

No the wheels do not need to be moving.

Actually with Tire Minder the tire must turn to deactivate the battery saver. Can't get a current reading on tire that has not rolled. That is another negative, instead of reading tire pressure before rolling off the site, the first valid reading is several minutes after the tires roll. If I am concerned, I drive to the campground exit and wait a minute while checking out for the system to update. Or if I need to move before hooking up that is sufficient time to get a reading.

My vote is for the TST 507 system. Have used it for 2 summers now without even having to have changed the batteries. It's functioned flawlessly. I did need to install the repeater to make it reliably connect to the sensors on our CRV.

Smart Tire no longer supports the RV market. I have that system on my coach and it is great. However, the sensors are inside the wheel and when they finally die (mine should be getting near the end of their battery life), I will have to go with something else.
