If you think a dealer could sell your unit for $30,000, why would he give you $30,000 as a trade? The dealer is in business because he makes a profit on every sale, not break even. So, if you think it's worth $30,000 retail then it's worth $15-18,000 as a trade and the dealer can work toward a $10,000 profit on the sale. Assuming you don't plan to pay the retail price on the new coach you could roll that discount into the price they paid for your trade-in to make you feel better about the number they offer.
