What? You want to stick around in some dumpy little town until you can get a court date? You just don't walk in and say "I want to go to court right now because I got a speeding ticket" and you probably couldn't get a court date next week either.
In fighting a speeding ticket, the only way you could win is if the officer wasn't in court and what is the chance of that?
Pay up and move on. Just don't speed next time.

You plead not guilty, a court date is set. Frequently the cop writing the ticket does not show up. Day off, vacation, family emergency, or whatever. Sometimes they have to be there regardless. That's to bad. The thing is to challenge the charges. You would be surprised how frequently you will prevail. You may have to go back to the dumpy little town for an appearance. So what, most of us are retired and need something to do anyhow.
Just paying up and moving on is what they are counting on. Then they notify your insurance and you can pay up again thru increased insurance rates.
