- John___AngelaExplorerTwo configurations.
Configuration Number one. For years we travel in Mexico with our little rig.
Configuration number 2. The rest of the time.
- cbighamExplorer IIIWe do it like this

Carries our stuff
- ferndaleflyerExplorer IIIthey are different experiences for sure other than the trips to and from and the performance of the rig. Don't need 400hp to tow a Smart car. But we all have generators, water tanks, flat tires, etc, along the way.

I think you need to separate the racers from the campers-----I rarely go into any kind of campground. Only racetracks where there is plenty of room. But on the occasions where I have been in a campground it has never been a problem with the 72ft. I can also back this mess down a mile long one lane road in the dark if I have to so getting into fuel pumps and tight spots is never a problem.
That is probably a good point when talking length and campgrounds is to seperate those or at least make a comment about either using their rigs for racing or camping and the experiences with either as they will be different.
Yes when racing, length of the rig and parking is not an issue at all. However, now that we are no longer racing and only using the coach/trailer for recreation that is where we have found that we definitely need to plan ahead accordingly.

Ok Guys and Gals,
Trying to figure out all I need to do.
I have thought about the tandem tow dolly, a hydralift, then a pickup with second bike in the bed, and on and on and on!!!
Here's my question, with the moho at 44ft, is pulling a 20-22 ft trailer as restrictive as it seems. the last 4 years pulling a 14 ft trailer has seemed to sometimes be a hassle, some parks just are not set up with the hookups and stuff.
Do you end up having to rent a second slot very often, I already know it will keep me out of alot of state parks and some national parks as well, but I think it is probably going to be the way we go as long as the wife wants to keep riding her own bike. I had thought a couple years ago she was ready to give it up, but now it looks as though she will ride for another couple years, but still, 7-8k for a set up that only has the one purpose seems outrageous to me, meaning the other options. At least with a trailer I would have the traveling garage and stuff.
I am a retired truck driver, the length is not a problem for me, but it just seems there are a lot of places we have been where they could not have accommodated us if we were a few feet longer.
Let me know if I am right or just over-reacting.
Thanks
You have almost answered your own question there. The coach alone will restrict or at least reduce the amount of state and national parks in which you can camp in not even including the trailer, so that issue is almost null and void based on the coach alone.
I have never had to pay for a second slot/site to park the trailer in. Most I have been able to remain hooked up providing I call ahead and reserve a spot early enough. There have only been a handful of times when I have had to drop the trailer and not be able to remain hooked up in my site.
All that said, I will admit that my wife and I have passed on some nice RV Parks/campgrounds due to not having provisions for our total length. Also, flat towing is "easier" by far but like you, I want to take more toys than just a toad. This is where planning ahead and trade-offs definitely come into play.
I am curious to see how others respond on their experiences as well and see if they are similar or different than what we have experienced when traveling.
