Trans output shaft leaking. Need opinions.
A mechanic noticed that my allison trans output shaft seal is leaking but I never have had to add trans oil. Can anyone tell me if this is serious and if it should be fixed right away?

It can be seating a little and go on for many years. If it doesn't drip and if you look at it and it's dirty, it's probably fine. If it's clean and wet then it's time to replace it.
