You are using a progressive inline with the trc
Without having one in front of me to open up
I wonder is the surge protection of the trc only on the shore power input side, which is why everything is ok when using the generator
I think the trc is faulty
I would replace it with one that is transfer switch only, and keep using the progressive for surge protection
