The sensor is in the test port bung on the side by the pan. I did test the tyranny for slip. The rpms did not jump when I pushed slightly on the throttle. The only noticeable change was if I let off the throttle and then got back on. Then the rpm changed about 200 rpms.
That will read 15-20 degrees cooler than the actual oil temp. I've got both a scan gauge and hook-up at the test port. My temps (scan gauge) are usually around 160 degrees pulling our 5000 lb toad. I've seen it climb to 210 degrees while climbing a long grade in 2nd or 3rd------never higher.
